Shradh Prarambh Haridwar Special Narayan Bali, Naag Bali and Pitru Shanti Mahapuja for Peace of Departed Souls

In Sanatan Dharma, Pitru Paksha holds special significance. This period is considered the most auspicious for the peace of the souls of ancestors. Each day within this period has its own importance, and one such day is Pratipada Tithi, also known as Shradh Pratipada. On this day, one can perform Shradh for their ancestors and receive their blessings. According to scriptures, during the period of Pitru Paksha, our ancestors descend from Pitru Loka to Earth, and they bless their descendants when they are pleased with the Shradh, Tarpan, and Pind Daan performed by them. The time of Pitru Paksha is also considered auspicious for the removal of Pitru Dosh. According to the Garuda Purana, for those whose last rites could not be performed, it is prescribed to conduct the Narayan Bali, Naag Bali, and Pitra Shanti Mahapuja for their peace. Performing this ritual during Pitru Paksha can greatly amplify its benefits. Due to Pitru Dosh, various problems such as financial losses, family disputes, and other troubles can persist in life. The Narayan Bali Puja is performed for the removal of Pitru Dosh, while the Naag Bali Puja aims to nullify the sin of killing a serpent or snake. According to the scriptures, both these pujas are effective only when performed together.

Lord Vishnu further explains in the Garuda Purana that these special rituals should be performed on the banks of sacred rivers like the Ganga by experienced pandits. The Ganga Ghats in Haridwar are revered places for ancestral rites. Therefore, on the auspicious day of Shradh Pratipada, Narayan Bali, Naag Bali and Pitru Shanti Mahapuja will be organised on the Ganga Ghat in Haridwar. Additionally, during Pitru Paksha, there is a tradition of performing acts of charity for ancestors. It is believed that offerings made during this time yield double the rewards. These offerings include Panch Bhog, lamp offerings (Deep Daan), and Ganga Aarti. By incorporating these additional options—such as Panch Bhog, Deep Daan, and Ganga Aarti—you can enhance the effectiveness of your puja and gain greater benefits. So, on this auspicious occasion, participate in the Narayan Bali, Naag Bali and Pitru Shanti Mahapuja organised by Sri Mandir and receive the blessings of your ancestors.

For Family Unity
Sometimes, even when there is no clear reason, families experience ongoing tension and disputes. One possible cause for discord in the home is Pitru Dosh. Performing this puja on Shraddha Pratipada at the beginning of the Pitru Paksha can help alleviate family conflicts and foster a sense of unity and togetherness.
puja benefits
Pitru Paksha Special Panch Bhog Mahadaan
During the Pitru Paksha period, the act of giving (Daan) is considered highly significant. Religious texts state that offering food to Brahmans (Brahman Bhoj) along with feeding cows, dogs, birds, and ants is considered a meritorious act, known as Panch Bali or Panch Bhog. It is believed that when these beings are fed during Pitru Paksha, the ancestors are satisfied with the food consumed by them and bestow blessings upon their descendants.
