Tuesday (Mangalwar) Shaktipeeth Special Kavach Argala Keelak Stotra Path and Nav Chandi Havan for Protection from Accidents, Diseases and Life Threats

In Hinduism, Maa Durga is described as the Adi Shakti, the supreme goddess, and the supreme power beyond even the universe. She is known for protecting against demons of darkness and ignorance, providing liberation, and ensuring welfare. It is believed that Maa Durga, in her various forms, not only grants peace and prosperity but also destroys negative forces. One of her forms is Maa Kali, which represents the fierce and demon-destroying aspect of the goddess. She is also known as Chandi. There are several prominent temples dedicated to the Goddess where devotees seek her blessings. To please Maa Durga, devotees follow various puja’s, including the recitation of Kavach, Argala, and Keelak Stotra. These are considered highly beneficial and provide protection from all directions. The Kavach recitation precedes the Durga Saptashati, where we pray to Maa Durga to protect all parts of our body from all directions.

The Durga Kavach is a kind of spiritual shield that provides mental and physical protection. Following the Kavach is the Argala Stotra, where sages and saints have praised Maa Durga, so that she can kill Demon Mahishasura. Just before the Durga Saptashati begins, the Keelak Stotra praises Lord Shiva. It is believed that Shiva and Shakti are incomplete without each other, so praising Lord Shiva is necessary to fully please Maa Durga and obtain desired results. Performing this sacred ritual at a Shaktipeeth is considered highly effective. According to ancient legends, at the Kalighat Shaktipeeth, a part of Maa Sati's right toe fell when Lord Shiva was performing the Tandava dance with her body. This makes Kalighat one of the 51 sacred Shaktipeeths. Notably, the puja will be performed on a Tuesday, a day dedicated to Lord Hanuman in Hinduism. However, there is also a special significance for worshipping Maa Durga on this day. Therefore, participate in this puja through Sri Mandir at this sacred site on Tuesday to receive the blessings of the Maa Durga.

Shaktipeeth Kalighat Temple, Kolkata, West Bengal
The Kali Ghat Temple, located in Kolkata, West Bengal, is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in Hinduism and is considered a highly significant pilgrimage site. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, revered as the deity of power, energy, and destruction. According to mythological tales, it is believed that here, the right toe of Goddess Sati fell when Lord Shiva was carrying her burnt body and performing the Tandava dance in grief. For this reason, this place is included among the extremely sacred 51 Shakti Peethas. The temple houses an idol of Goddess Kali in a fierce form, where she is seen standing with her right foot on Lord Shiva's chest, adorned with a garland of soft skulls around his neck, holding some axes and severed heads in her hands, with some skulls tied around her waist. Her tongue is protruding outward with drops of blood dripping from it, made of gold.

The current temple was constructed under the patronage of the Saborno Roychoudhury family & Babu Kaliproshad Dutto, with construction starting in 1798 and completing in 1809. The Kali Ghat Temple holds immense religious and cultural significance. For centuries, it has been a centre of attraction for devotees who come here to fulfil their wishes. Worship of Goddess Kali at Kali Ghat liberates devotees from fear, negativity, and malevolent energies, bringing peace, prosperity, and success in life. Additionally, the temple is a symbol of Bengal's cultural heritage and hosts grand celebrations during religious festivals, especially Durga Puja and Kali Puja.
