According to the astrological Panchang, the Amavasya Tithi of the Krishna Paksha in the Phalguna month is known as Phalguna Amavasya. This tithi holds special significance in Sanatan Dharma. She is revered as the eighth Mahavidya among the Ten Mahavidyas, and her worship is believed to remove obstacles and offer protection from adversaries. It is said that even Lord Shri Ram and the Pandavas sought the blessings of Maa Bagalamukhi to achieve victory in their endeavors.
Kaal Bhairav, the fierce form of Lord Shiva, is regarded as the God of Time. The name "Bhairav" means "the one who destroys fear." Therefore, worshipping Kaal Bhairav on Phalguna Amavasya is believed to provide freedom from fear, uncertainty, and negative energies. Just as Kaal Bhairav is a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva, Lord Hanuman is also considered an incarnation of Shiva. Revered as the devotee of Lord Rama and the remover of obstacles (Sankat Mochan), Lord Hanuman symbolizes strength, devotion, and protection. According to the Valmiki Ramayana, when Lakshman fell unconscious in battle, Hanuman brought the Sanjeevani booti and defeated Kalanemi, a demon sent by Ravana. This heroic act earned him the title "Sankat Mochan," meaning the one who rescues devotees from all difficulties. Thus, on this Phalguna Amavasya, a special Sarva Kasht Nivaran Puja and Yagya will be organized in Ujjain, the sacred city of Mahakaal, to invoke the blessings of Maa Bagalamukhi, Kaal Bhairav, and Sankat Mochan Hanuman.
