In his rage, Shiva created Bhairav—a relentless force of destruction—who struck down Brahma Ji’s fifth head, severing the deceit at its source. But the act carried a terrible price—Bhairav was marked by the sin of Brahmahatya. The skull clung to his hand, an eternal curse, forcing him to wander through time and space, a relentless force feared across realms. No power could break the curse—until he reached Kashi. Here, where Shiva’s presence is absolute, the skull fell, and Bhairav was freed. In this sacred city, Shiva declared him the Kotwal, the unyielding protector, the terror of unseen enemies, and the destroyer of all malevolent forces.
