Kansa Vadh Shaktipeeth Mathura Special Devi Mahamaya Tantra Yukta Havan and Pratyangira Vishnu Raksha Pujan for Blessings of Supreme Protection from Negativity and Evil Forces

Mahamaya, also known as Yogamaya, is the sister of Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. According to the Markandeya Purana, once Maa Durga informed all the deities that she would be born as the daughter of Nanda and Yashoda to defeat all the demons. On the same day that Lord Krishna was born, Mahamaya was also born. Since the prophecy stated that the eighth child of Devaki and Vasudeva would be the cause of Kansa's death, Kansa killed all of his sister's children one by one to save his own life. However, Lord Vishnu was born as Lord Krishna, who was the eighth child of Devaki and Vasudeva. To protect his son, Vasudeva exchanged him with the daughter of Nanda and Yashoda and returned to jail with their daughter, Mahamaya. When Kansa learned that his sister had given birth to another child, he rushed to kill the newborn. But when he found out that Devaki had given birth to a girl, he was astonished because the prophecy said that the eighth son of Devaki and Vasudeva would be the cause of his death. Still, out of fear of death, Kansa decided to kill the girl.

During this time, as Kansa attacked, Maa Durga revealed her true form and warned him that the one who would kill him was safe in Gokul. After delivering this message, the goddess disappeared. In this way, Goddess Mahamaya assisted Lord Vishnu by ensuring the protection of Lord Krishna, which ultimately led to Kansa's defeat and the eradication of evil from the world. Therefore, it is believed that worshipping Goddess Mahamaya and Lord Vishnu during the auspicious time of the Kartik month provides devotees with supreme protection from negativity and evil forces. Additionally, the goddess Pratyangira, a powerful manifestation of the divine feminine, is also highly revered. Worshiping Goddess Pratyangira along with these deities is considered extremely beneficial. Goddess Pratyangira is regarded as a protector who destroys negativity and evil forces. With her blessings, all malevolent powers can be warded off. Hence, during the auspicious Kartik month, a Devi Mahamaya Tantra Yukta Havan and Pratyangira Vishnu Raksha Pujan will be organised at the Shaktipeeth Maa Katyayani Temple in Mathura. According to the Varaha Purana, Lord Vishnu states that there is no place in the earth, sky, or netherworld that is more dear to him than Mathura. Mathura is his beloved place. Therefore, worshipping Goddess Mahamaya, along with Lord Vishnu, in Mathura is considered very auspicious. Participate in this puja through Sri Mandir and receive the blessing of supreme protection from negativity and evil powers.

Shaktipeeth Maa Katyayani Temple, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh
The Katyayani Shakti Peeth Temple is among the 51 revered Shakti Peethas in Hinduism. It is dedicated to Maa Parvati in her Katyayani form. Every year, the temple is flooded with pilgrims who come to pray to Goddess Katyayani and seek her blessings. The temple was built by a saint named Kesavanand Maharaj, an ardent devotee of Maa Katyayani, who had a dream in which Katyayani Devi asked him to come to Vrindavan and build a temple.

The Shakti Peethas are sacred spots where parts of the body of Goddess Sati fell during the mythological episode of Lord Shiva's Tandava following her self-immolation. It is believed that Mata Sati’s hair fell in this temple. Some people worship her as Goddess Uma here. Therefore, the temple is also known as Uma Shakti Peeth or Uma Devi Mandir. Another legend associated with Uma Shakti Peeth in Vrindavan is that worshipping Katyayani Devi grants girls their desired groom. It is said that the gopis of Braj Wanted Lord Krishna as their husband, and Vrinda Devi suggested they worship Goddess Katyayani. This tradition continues to this day.
