Just as there is a grand temple of Lord Pashupatinath in Nepal, there is also one in Haridwar. The famous Pashupatinath Temple in Nepal has a Shiva Lingam made from a special black stone, and around 200 years ago, the King of Nepal used this stone to build a magnificent Pashupatinath Temple in Haridwar. It is said that performing puja in this temple fulfils all wishes through Lord Shiva’s grace. Devotees who are unable to visit Nepal after the Char Dham Yatra come to the Pashupatinath Temple in Haridwar. Worshipping here is believed to provide the full benefit of the Char Dham Yatra.
