At the same time, there is a popular story behind the worship of Shani Dev along with Hanumanji. It is said that during the Treta Yuga, Ravana had captured Shani Dev along with other planets. Later, when Hanuman reached Lanka in search of Mata Sita, he freed Shani Dev from Ravana's captivity. Grateful, Shani Dev promised Hanuman that his devotees would not be affected by Shani's malefic influence. Additionally, various types of worship are also performed to reduce the inauspicious effects of Shani Dev, including the Til Tel Abhishek. It is believed that offering oil to Shani Dev alleviates the sufferings of his devotees and fulfils their wishes.
