Nakshatra of Rahu - Sunday Special Rahu-Surya Grahan Dosh Puja for Blessings of Success in Politics and Government Jobs

In Sanatan Dharma, Sunday is dedicated to Surya Dev (Sun God), who is revered and worshiped on this day. According to Vedic astrology, Surya Dev is considered the king of the planets, and it is believed that worshiping him fulfills one’s desires, bringing happiness and prosperity into life. Astrologers suggest that a strong Sun in one’s horoscope leads to desired success in career and business. Surya Dev symbolizes confidence, health, authority, soul, father, and bosses, making his positive influence in the horoscope essential for overall well-being. Surya is also the ruling planet of government careers. On the other hand, Rahu is considered a shadow planet. It is said that in the Kaliyug, Rahu has the unique power to transform a king into a pauper and vice versa, which is why it is considered highly influential. Rahu rules the Ardra, Swati, and Shatabhisha nakshatras. Astrologically, Rahu and Surya are opposites; Surya represents order and discipline, while Rahu signifies breaking boundaries and unconventional paths. When Rahu and Surya are positioned together or opposite each other in any house of an individual’s horoscope, Grahan Dosh is formed, a yog known to bring challenges.

If a person has Grahan Dosh in their chart, they may face displeasure from senior officials, political conflicts, and challenges in government-related work. This dosh can also lead to professional setbacks and hindered progress in both corporate and political careers. Despite their contrasting qualities, both Rahu and Surya are devotees of Lord Shiva, which is why performing the Rahu-Surya Grahan Dosh Puja at the Rahu Paithani Temple is considered particularly auspicious. This temple is one of the few temples in India where Lord Shiva is worshiped with Rahu. The puja will be conducted on a Sunday, the day dedicated to Surya Dev, under the Shatabhisha Nakshatra, which is ruled by Rahu. Participate in this Rahu-Surya Grahan Dosh Puja through Sri Mandir and seek the blessings of Surya and Rahu, promoting success in government jobs and politics, while easing the effects of Grahan Dosh for smoother professional journeys.

Rahu Paithani Temple, Pauri, Uttarakhand
Along with Lord Shiva, Rahu is also worshipped in this Rahu temple located in Uttarakhand. This is the one of the few Rahu temples in the country, where Rahu is worshipped along with Lord Shiva. According to legends, Rahu and Ketu used to be a demon named Swarbhanu. During the Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean), when Swarbhanu deceitfully sat among the gods and drank the Amrit, Lord Vishnu realized his deception. To prevent him from becoming immortal, Vishnu severed his head from his body with his Sudarshan Chakra. However, because Swarbhanu had already tasted the Amrit, he became immortal. The lower part of Swarbhanu became Ketu and the part above the head above the torso was called Rahu. This head part, after being cut off from Sudarshan, fell at Pauri which came to be known as the Rahu temple.

It is believed that people go to this temple of Rahu to remove various Doshas caused by Rahu. Here the Pujas are especially done to get relief from Kaal Sarp Dosha, Rahu-Ketu Dosha, and Rahu Mahadasha. It is mentioned at many places that this temple was built by Adi Shankaracharya. But there is another story about this temple in which it is told that, the temple was built by the Pandavas when they were on their Swargarohini Yatra, back then Pandavas established this temple to avoid the doshas of Rahu. It is said, Pandavas worshipped Lord Shiva and Rahu in this temple.
