Since then, Maa Bagalamukhi Jayanti has been regarded as an especially auspicious and highly fruitful occasion for the worship and adoration of the Goddess. Maa Bagalamukhi is venerated as the deity who grants divine protection, eliminates enemy obstacles, and averts crises. It is believed that by worshipping her, one can overcome evil eyes, defeat enemies, attain victories in legal matters, gain persuasive speech, achieve mental stability, and be blessed with total success in life.
Thus, on the auspicious occasion of Maa Bagalamukhi Jayanti, a grand and powerful ritual is being organized at the famous Maa Bagalamukhi Temple in Ujjain, conducted by eight Brahmins. In this special ritual, during eight Prahars (time divisions), 1000 recitations of Maa Baglaamukhi’s mool mantra will be chanted in each Prahar, completing a total of 8000 chants. Special emphasis has been placed on the number 8 because Maa Bagalamukhi is revered as the eighth goddess among the ten Mahavidyas, and thus this number holds immense auspiciousness. To make the ritual even more potent, Maa will be worshipped through the Shodosopchar Abhishek – a 16-step ceremonial worship that includes invoking the deity, offering a seat, ritualistic foot-washing, purification through Achamana (sipping holy water), bathing with Panchamrit (a mixture of five sacred ingredients), offering flowers, and performing circumambulations and salutations.
