Phalguna Amavasya Sampoorna Raksha Shaktipeeth Mahanushthan Shri Hanuman, Bhairav, Maha Kali Sampoorna Suraksha Maha Yagya for Complete Protection from Negativity and Victory over Enemies

👉 How powerful is the combo worship of Hanumanji, Bhairav, and Mahakali at the Shaktipeeth on Phalguna Amavasya?

According to the Vedic Panchang, the Amavasya Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the Phalguna month is known as Phalguna Amavasya. This tithi holds great significance in Sanatan Dharma. As mentioned in the Puranas, it is believed that negative energies reach their peak on this day, and to dispel them, devotees worship various deities. Among them, Lord Hanuman, Lord Bhairav, and Maa Kali are worshipped with great devotion to seek protection from negative forces and evil. Lord Hanuman, known as Sankatmochan (the remover of obstacles), played a crucial role in helping Lord Rama defeat Ravana and rescue Sita with his unwavering devotion and immense strength. The Ramayana narrates how Hanuman leaped across the ocean to deliver Lord Rama’s message to Sita, assuring her of Rama’s vow to rescue her. His bravery, intelligence, divine powers, and ability to defeat enemies made him one of the most revered deities. Lord Hanuman is also believed to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva, and worshipping him is thought to provide divine protection to devotees.

Just as Lord Hanuman protects his devotees from all difficulties and grants victory over enemies, Lord Bhairav, an incarnation of Shiva’s Rudra form, is worshipped for removing fear and shielding devotees from harm. There is an ancient legend behind the origin of Lord Bhairav. Once, the gods questioned who among Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh (Shiva) was the supreme deity. Brahma claimed himself to be the greatest and even insulted Lord Shiva. Enraged by this, Shiva manifested as the fierce Kaal Bhairav and severed Brahma’s fifth head with his nail. This act was considered Brahmahatya (the sin of killing Brahma). To atone for this sin, Lord Shiva instructed Kaal Bhairav to wander on Earth. He eventually reached Kashi, where he was liberated from the sin of Brahmahatya. Since then, Lord Shiva appointed Bhairav as the guardian (Kotwal) of Kashi, entrusting him with the protection of the city and its people from evil forces.

Maa Kali is also a protector, known for destroying negativity and evil forces. According to the scriptures, the gods struggled to defeat the demon RaktaBeej, who had the ability to create new demons from every drop of his spilled blood. To counter this, Maa Kali appeared on the battlefield and extended her tongue to ensure that no blood touched the ground, preventing the demon from regenerating. These divine deities together work to eliminate negative energies and obstacles, providing complete protection to devotees. Therefore, on this Phalguna Amavasya, the Shri Hanuman, Bhairav, and Mahakali Sampoorna Suraksha Mahayagya will be organized at the Shaktipeeth Kalighat Temple in Kolkata.

Shaktipeeth Kalighat Temple, Kolkata, West Bengal

Shaktipeeth Kalighat Temple, Kolkata, West Bengal
The Kali Ghat Temple, located in Kolkata, West Bengal, is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in Hinduism and is considered a highly significant pilgrimage site. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, revered as the deity of power, energy, and destruction. According to mythological tales, it is believed that here, the right toe of Goddess Sati fell when Lord Shiva was carrying her burnt body and performing the Tandava dance in grief. For this reason, this place is included among the extremely sacred 51 Shakti Peethas. The temple houses an idol of Goddess Kali in a fierce form, where she is seen standing with her right foot on Lord Shiva's chest, adorned with a garland of soft skulls around his neck, holding some axes and severed heads in her hands, with some skulls tied around her waist. Her tongue is protruding outward with drops of blood dripping from it, made of gold.

The current temple was constructed under the patronage of the Saborno Roychoudhury family & Babu Kaliproshad Dutto, with construction starting in 1798 and completing in 1809. The Kali Ghat Temple holds immense religious and cultural significance. For centuries, it has been a centre of attraction for devotees who come here to fulfil their wishes. Worship of Goddess Kali at Kali Ghat liberates devotees from fear, negativity, and malevolent energies, bringing peace, prosperity, and success in life. Additionally, the temple is a symbol of Bengal's cultural heritage and hosts grand celebrations during religious festivals, especially Durga Puja and Kali Puja.
