According to a mythological story, there was a demon named Vidyavaan who terrorised everyone. He could only be killed by someone who was neither human nor animal. Lord Ganesha fulfilled this condition. The second condition was that the demon could only be killed while he was asleep. Riddhi and Siddhi were not willing to participate in this task. Then, all the gods and sages performed a Yagya with mantras from the Atharva Veda. From this Yagya, Devi Neel Saraswati emerged in the form of Shakti. Lord Ganesha, along with Neel Saraswati, killed the demon. From that moment, the worship of Lord Ganesha in the form of Ucchista Ganapati began. The Chaturthi that falls on the Krishna Paksha of every month is called Sankashti Chaturthi. This day is considered the best for the worship of Lord Ganesha. According to the Narada Purana, worshipping Lord Ganesha on the day of Sankashti Chaturthi removes negativity and maintains peace in the home. Therefore, the Ucchista Ganesh Stotra Path & Tantrokta Havan and 1008 Ganesh Mool Mantra Jaap will be organised on the auspicious day of Sankashti Chaturthi. It is believed that Bada Ganesh Ji’s darshan eliminates all worries, brings happiness and prosperity, and fulfils the desires of the devotees.
