According to a mythological story, there was a demon named Vidyavaan who terrorised everyone. He could only be killed by someone who was neither human nor animal. Lord Ganesha fulfilled this condition. The second condition was that the demon could only be killed while he was asleep. Riddhi and Siddhi were not willing to participate in this task. Then, all the gods and sages performed a Yagya with mantras from the Atharva Veda. From this Yagya, Devi Neel Saraswati emerged in the form of Shakti. Lord Ganesha, along with Neel Saraswati, killed the demon. From that moment, the worship of Lord Ganesha in the form of Ucchista Ganapati began. In Hinduism, Wednesday is devoted to worshipping Ganesh ji.
