Somvati Amavasya 3 Moksha Tirth Combo Special Gaya Pitru Dosha Nivaran Puja, Kashi Ganga Aarti and Rameshwaram Til Tarpanam for Peace of Ancestor's souls and Resolving Family Disputes

In Hinduism, Somvati Amavasya holds special significance. When Amavasya falls on a Monday, it is called Somvati Amavasya. According to scriptures, the Amavasya falling in this month is considered highly auspicious for performing rituals and pujas dedicated to our ancestors. Since the Pitru Devatas are regarded as the presiding deities of Amavasya, and is dedicated to Pitru Adhipati Vishnu, it is believed that performing Pitru Dosha Nivaran Puja on Somvati Amavasya for the peace of ancestral souls brings immense benefits. Performing ancestral rites and rituals on this day is said to bring satisfaction to the departed souls and earn the blessings of Lord Vishnu. According to the Puranas, if these rites are not carried out properly, the family may suffer from Pitru Dosha. This Dosha not only impacts the individual but also affects the entire family. Families afflicted by Pitru Dosha may face obstacles in career growth, challenges in their children's education and careers, and health issues for the family head. Therefore, on Somvati Amavasya Gaya Pitru Dosha Nivaran Puja, Kashi Ganga Aarti and Rameshwaram Til Tarpanam will be organised at these 3 Moksha Tirth.

Gaya is a revered site where people from across the country and abroad come to perform Pitru Puja to fulfil their desire for the salvation of their ancestors. According to the Puranas, an Asura named Gayasura performed intense penance and received a boon from the gods, which he later misused to torment the deities. The gods sought refuge in Lord Vishnu, who subdued Gayasura by placing His foot on his chest. When Gayasura's head trembled, Lord Vishnu placed His mace on it, calming him. Pleased with Gayasura’s repentance, Lord Vishnu granted him the boon that anyone performing Pitru Puja in Gaya would help their departed souls attain salvation. Along with the Pitru Dosha Nivaran Puja in Gaya, special rituals such as the Kashi Ganga Aarti and Rameshwaram Til Tarpanam will also be conducted for the peace of ancestral souls. Participating in the sacred Ganga Aarti of Moksha Dayini (the giver of liberation) , Maa Ganga in Kashi is believed to cleanse sins, grant peace to ancestral souls, and liberate them. Similarly, performing Til Tarpan in Rameshwaram holds immense spiritual significance. As per ancient texts, after defeating Ravana, Lord Rama and Sita Devi created a Shivalingam from sand in Rameshwaram and performed a special puja to absolve themselves of any doshas. Moved by their devotion, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati appeared to bless them, cleansing them of all sins.

In Sanatan Dharma, it is believed that performing Pitru Dosha Puja on Somvati Amavasya is extremely auspicious. Therefore, on this day, a Pitru Dosha Nivaran Puja will be organised at the Dharmaranya Vedi in Gaya. Additionally, Ganga Aarti in Kashi and Til Tarpanam at the Rameshwaram Ghat will also be conducted. The Dharmaranya Vedi in Gaya is considered highly effective for resolving Pitru Dosha. Performing Shradh rituals here grants moksha to ancestors. Since this place is associated with Lord Vishnu, the Pitru Puja performed here brings peace to the departed souls. On the other hand, the city of Kashi, also known as Banaras or Varanasi, is situated on the banks of the Ganges River. People from across the country and abroad visit to take a holy dip in the Ganges. It is believed that bathing in the Ganges during auspicious times or on special religious days brings immense blessings and paves the way for spiritual liberation.

Devotees pray, perform Aarti, and meditate at the Ganga ghats, seeking blessings for health, prosperity, and spiritual growth. Similarly, Rameshwar, often referred to as Rameshwaram, holds profound spiritual and cultural significance in Hinduism. Nestled on the picturesque island of Rameswaram, it is renowned for its ancient temples and sacred sites, attracting pilgrims from across the globe. According to the epic Ramayana, this sacred site is believed to be where Lord Rama and Sita Devi created a Shivalingam from sand after defeating Ravana and performed a special puja to rid themselves of any doshas. Moved by their devotion, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati appeared and blessed them, cleansing them of all sins. Due to this divine event, Rameshwaram is considered an ideal place to perform rituals like Dosha-related pujas.
