A battle ensued between the Goddess and the demons, in which the Goddess slew both demons. Just as Goddess Kali destroyed the demons, worshipping her here is believed to grant devotees protection from evil forces, negative energies, and fear. It is believed that Mahakali is immersed here in a sacred pond. Therefore, on the auspicious day of Ashtami, performing 1008 Kali Mool Mantra Jaap and Kali Sahasranama Path can please Maa Kali.
