Magha Purnima Mahakumbh Prayagraj Special 11,000 Mahamrityunjay Mantra Jaap, 10,000 Chandra Beej Mantra Jaap and Havan to Receive Blessings of Mental and Physical Well-Being

In Hinduism, the largest spiritual gathering, the Maha Kumbh, is held in Prayagraj once every 12 years. Prayagraj is known as "Tirthraj" because it is the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati rivers, symbolizing immense spiritual energy. According to religious scriptures, the Purnima (full moon) that falls during this period holds even greater significance. The Purnima that occurs in the month of Magha is also known as Maghi Purnima, which is considered highly auspicious for religious rituals. Hence, worshiping Chandra Dev (Moon God) and Lord Shiva on this sacred day is regarded as very important. The connection between the moon and Lord Shiva is ancient. According to legends, King Daksha had 27 daughters, all of whom he married off to the moon. The moon was most attached to Rohini, which saddened the other daughters. They complained to their father, and King Daksha cursed the moon. As a result, the moon was afflicted with a wasting disease, causing the loss of his phases. Narada Muni advised the moon to worship Lord Shiva. The moon prayed to Lord Shiva, and His blessings cured the moon’s ailment. The moon then requested Lord Shiva to wear him on His head. The cyclical nature of the moon's waxing and waning is also seen as a symbol of the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. The waning phase represents decay and death, while the waxing phase symbolises growth, renewal, and life.

The moon’s deep connection with Lord Shiva, who wears a crescent moon on His head, is significant. Another name for the moon is Mrityusamharakay, which means "One who holds back death." Therefore, it is believed that the moon delays death. Lord Shiva, worshipped through the Mahamrityunjay Mantra, is regarded as the destroyer of death. Both the moon and Shiva are intertwined in this aspect of conquering death. It is believed that the cooling, soothing influence of the moon complements Shiva's destructive power, representing the preservation and balance of life. Therefore, on Mahakumbh Purnima, worshipping both the moon and Lord Shiva can bring blessings for mental and physical well-being. According to astrology, the presiding deity of the moon is Lord Shiva, so by worshipping Shiva, the moon is pacified, and Chandra Dosha is removed. On this sacred day of Magh Purnima, 11,000 Mahamrityunjay Mantra Jaap, 10,000 Chandra Beej Mantra Jaap and Havan will be organised at the Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga. Participate in this puja through Sri Mandir and receive the blessings of Lord Shiva and Chandra Dev.

Triveni Sangam,Prayagraj

Triveni Sangam,Prayagraj
In Hinduism, the Triveni Sangam is considered a very sacred place. It is the spot where the three rivers—Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati—meet. The Triveni Sangam is associated with the divine power of the Trimurti—Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. It is believed that anyone who takes a dip in this confluence is absolved of all sins and attains liberation, meaning freedom from the cycle of birth and death. This is why the Kumbh Mela is held every 12 years at this site, where millions of devotees bathe and seek liberation.

According to beliefs, Lord Brahma chose Prayagraj as the place for a yagya at the time of creation. He gave special significance to this place and performed the yagya here. Since then, this site has been renowned as a center of religion, penance, and spiritual practice. Therefore, Prayagraj is referred to as "Teerthraj," meaning the king of all pilgrimage sites. Performing a yagya here is believed to fill the place with divine and spiritual energy, and a holy dip here is said to earn one merit. Religious rituals at the Triveni Sangam hold special significance.
