Nirjala Ekadashi Special Ekadasi Mahadaan and Tulsi Pujan for Protection, Prosperity and Spiritual Well-Being

According to the Hindu calendar, there are 24 Ekadashi in a year. Each of them holds a special significance. On Ekadashi, primarily Lord Vishnu is worshipped. Not only Vishnu puja, but performing Tulsi puja on this day pleases Lord Vishnu greatly, ensuring that there is never a shortage of wealth and prosperity in the household. Among all these Ekadashis, some are particularly special, and one such Ekadashi is Nirjala Ekadashi. It is believed that observing a fast on Nirjala Ekadashi grants the devotee the merit of observing the fasts of the remaining 23 Ekadashis of the year. Nirjala Ekadashi holds the highest importance for Daan (offerings). The Daan made on this day is considered highly significant and is called Mahadaan. According to scriptures, performing Daan on this day grants a person access to heaven and alleviates all the sorrows and hardships of life. The importance of Mahadaan increases even more when it is done in Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that by performing Daan on the auspicious day of Nirjala Ekadashi on this sacred land of Lord Krishna, devotees continue to receive boundless grace from Lord Vishnu. Therefore on the auspicious day of Nirajala Ekadashi, Mahadaan and Tulsi Pujan will be organised at Shri Dirgh Vishnu Temple, Mathura. Specially these things are offered on Nirajala Ekadashi -

👉Mithe Pani ka Daan (Offering of Sweet Water): Offering sweet water on this day helps one overcome all sorts of problems.

👉Hath ke Pankhe ka Daan (Offering of Hand Fan): Offering items that provide relief from the heat, such as a hand fan, is considered most auspicious on Nirjala Ekadashi.

👉Pile Vastra ka Daan (Offering of Yellow Cloth): Offering yellow clothes on Nirjala Ekadashi ensures the continuous blessings of Goddess Lakshmi.

👉Pile Anna ka Daan (Offering of Yellow-Coloured Food): By offering yellow-coloured food on this day, you receive special blessings from Lord Vishnu.

Shri Dirgh Vishnu Temple, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh
Shri Dirgh Vishnu Mandir, located in Mathura, is said to date back to the era of Lord Krishna. According to mythological beliefs, anyone who bows their head with devotion here has all their sorrows personally taken away by Lord Hari. Worshipping at this temple is thought to be instrumental in realising our life goals and aspirations, while also enhancing our physical and mental well-being.

References to the Dirgh Vishnu Mandir can also be found in the Varaha Purana, Narada Purana, and the Bhagavad Gita. According to the Varaha Purana, Lord Vishnu states that there is no place in the Earth, space, or the netherworld that is as dear to Him as Mathura. The establishment of this temple took place around 4,500 years ago. Its construction was undertaken to remember the six-armed form of Lord Krishna and to save the holy pilgrimage site of Yamuna. The temple showcases the divine form of Lord Krishna, which He revealed during the time of slaying Kansa.
