According to the scriptures, a Parthiv Shivling should always be made from soil and sand found on the banks of sacred rivers, one of which is the Narmada River. According to legend, Maa Narmada is the daughter of Lord Shiva and originated from the sweat of Lord Shiva. Therefore, it is believed that every stone from the Narmada River is a Shivling. Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, located on the banks of the Narmada River in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and is considered a self-manifested Linga. It is believed that by merely visiting Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, a person can get freedom from all sins. The glory of the Omkareshwar Temple is also mentioned in the Skanda Purana, Shiva Purana, and Vayu Purana. Therefore, 1100 Shivlinga Pranpratishtha Partheshwar Puja will be organised at the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Temple on Pradosh Tithi dedicated to Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati. This puja will be performed on a boat in the middle of the Narmada river where Parthiv Shivlingas will be made and after the puja all the Shivlingas will be immersed in the Narmada river.
