Govatsa Dwadashi Gau Pujan Special Gau Vatsalya Shodasha Pujan, Gau Alankara and Abhishek for Blessings of Prosperity and Unity in Family

In Sanatan Dharma, Govatsa Dwadashi holds special significance. Govatsa Dwadashi is celebrated every year, on the Dwadashi tithi of the Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. It is also known as Bach Baras. This day is dedicated to the worship of the cow (Gau Mata). According to legend, after the birth of Lord Krishna, Mata Yashoda worshipped Gau Mata on this very day. As per the Bhavishya Purana, Lord Brahma resides in the back part of the cow, Lord Vishnu in the neck, Lord Rudra in the mouth, all the deities in the middle, the sages in the hair follicles, Ananta Naag in the tail, all the mountains in the hooves, the sacred rivers like Ganga in the cow’s urine, Goddess Lakshmi in the cow dung, and the Sun and Moon in the eyes. Hence, it is believed that worshipping Gau Mata on this day brings the blessings of all gods and goddesses. Devotees perform various divine rituals on Govatsa Dwadashi to receive the blessings of Gau Mata, including Gau Vatsalya Shodasha Puja, Gau Alankara and Abhishek.

In this puja, the cow (Gau Mata) is worshipped through the Shodashopachara method, which involves 16 different forms of offering. During the puja, flowers, kumkum, clothes, etc., are offered to Gau Mata. Afterward, the cow is anointed and adorned with ornaments. It is believed that performing the Gau Vatsalya Shodasha Puja, Gau Alankara, and Abhishek on Govatsa Dwadashi brings blessings of happiness, prosperity, and unity to the family. If this puja is performed during a specific auspicious time (muhurat), its benefits are believed to be multiplied. On Govatsa Dwadashi, the Pradosh Kaal Muhurat falls between 6:07 PM to 8:37 PM, which is considered the most auspicious time for this puja. Therefore, during the auspicious time of the Pradosh Kaal on Govatsa Dwadashi, Gau Vatsalya Shodasha Puja, Gau Alankara, and Abhishek will be organised at the Etteluthuperumal Temple in South India. Participate in this puja through Sri Mandir and receive the blessings of Gau Mata for happiness, prosperity, and unity in the family.

The Etteluthuperumal Temple, located in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, is a revered shrine imbued with deep spiritual significance. Established 120 years ago by the esteemed sage Mayandi Siddhar, the temple is a testament to enduring tradition and devotion. Sage Mayandi Siddhar constructed the temple following a profound meditation and vision of Lord Ram. The temple has witnessed numerous miracles, including the main statue of Lord Perumal, which was sculpted by an ordinary person with no formal knowledge of sculpture. The temple houses several sacred idols, including the notable Sphatika Lingam made of pure clear quartz.

According to the Shastras, worshipping the Sphatika Lingam is believed to imbue devotees with confidence, self-worth, and power, while alleviating worries and negative influences. This Sphatika Lingam is particularly significant as it is one of the largest in India, after the one in Rishikesh. The effort put into conducting the rituals are well appreciated. I'm glad there is a portal that allows for those seeking to purify their souls and purpose to connect with these prayers. This is a good place even for those who are "NOT religious" to experience tradition and its art forms of performing humbling duties. Appreciate the care towards activities of donation. May Black Magicians and their diseases destroying this earth go extinct. May earth be saved from disasters. Peace 🙏
