Ashadha Ekadashi Shaktipeeth Special Shri Varaha Varahi Devi Maha Yagya for Freedom from Property Disputes and Abundance of Wealth

Lord Vishnu has taken 24 incarnations on Earth, out of which 10 are considered primary. The third incarnation of Lord Vishnu, after Matsya and Kashyapa, is 'Varaha'. According to mythology, Hiranyaksha had dragged the Earth into the depths of the ocean, causing it to become submerged. To rescue the Earth, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Varaha from the nostril of Lord Brahma. When Lord Varaha started to lift the Earth out of the water with his snout, the demon Hiranyaksha challenged him to battle. Lord Vishnu killed the demon with his Sudarshan Chakra and then brought the Earth out from the depths, thereby freeing the three worlds from fear.

Devi Varahi, on the other hand, is one of the Saptamatrikas in Hinduism and is considered a form of Bhudevi, the Earth goddess. She is also regarded as a form of Goddess Lakshmi, representing the power of Lord Vishnu's Varaha avatar. It is believed that while Lakshmi bestows wealth, Devi Varahi removes misfortune. It is said that Devi Varahi can grant everything that one receives from the Earth. According to the Devi Mahatmya, Goddess Durga creates the Matrikas from within herself, who then lead in the battle against demons. Devi Varahi helped Goddess Durga in killing demons like Shumbha-Nishumbha and Raktabija. It is believed that in ancient times, kings worshipped Goddess Varahi for wealth and prosperity in their kingdoms. It is said that worshipping the Varaha Varahi avatar brings material comforts, freedom from obstacles, and success in matters related to land or property disputes. Therefore, participate in the Shri Varaha Varahi Devi Maha Yagya that will be organised on Ashadha Krishna Ekadashi at Shaktipeeth Maa Varahi Devi Temple.

Lord Vishnu's third avatar is Lord Varaha, and Maa Varahi is considered his supreme energy. When the demon Hiranyaksha hid the Earth in the depths of the ocean, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Varaha to rescue it. The Earth is considered a form of Goddess Varahi, and with her energy, Lord Varaha's power doubled. With this enhanced strength, he destroyed Hiranyaksha and freed the three worlds from fear. Goddess Varahi is one of the Saptamatrikas and is also considered a form of Lakshmi.

In India, there are only a few famous temples dedicated to Goddess Varahi. Among these, the Shri Varahi Temple in Devidhura, Uttarakhand, is a prominent Shaktipeeth. It is believed that the teeth of Goddess Sati fell here. The idol of the Goddess is so powerful at this temple, that no one can look directly at it. Therefore, the idol is kept in a glass and copper case, allowing devotees to have her Darshan. In this temple, both Goddess Varahi and Lord Varaha are worshipped. Uttarakhand, also known as Devbhoomi (Land of the Gods), holds special reverence for both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. Worshipping any incarnation of Lord Vishnu here is considered highly fruitful. Therefore, worshipping Maa Varahi and Lord Varaha in the Maa Varahi Temple is believed to grant special blessings to devotees.
