The origin of Lord Bhairav is described in an ancient tale found in the Shiva Purana. Once, the gods asked Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu who among them was the greatest. Lord Brahma claimed superiority and insulted Lord Shiva. Enraged, Shiva manifested his fierce form, Kaal Bhairav, and severed Brahma's fifth head with his nail. This act was considered Brahmahatya (the sin of killing a Brahmin). To atone for this sin, Lord Shiva sent Kaal Bhairav to Earth. Kaal Bhairav reached Kashi, where he was absolved of his sin. Since then, Lord Shiva appointed Bhairav as the Kotwal (protector) of Kashi, safeguarding the city and its people from evil forces. Like Lord Bhairav, Lord Hanuman is also considered a form of Lord Shiva. Known as Sankatmochan, he is revered as a powerful protector. His unparalleled devotion and strength played a significant role in helping Lord Rama defeat Ravana during Sita's rescue. The Ramayana describes Hanuman's heroic act of crossing the ocean to deliver Rama's message to Sita. With his courage, wisdom, and divine powers, Hanuman played a pivotal role in defeating enemies. Worshiping him is believed to provide protection from troubles and victory over adversaries. These deities collectively remove negativity and hidden obstacles, offering Sampoorna Raksha (complete protection) to devotees.
