There is a temple of Shakti Swaroopa Maa Vindhyavasini on the banks of the Ganges in Vindhyachal town, 8 km from Mirzapur. According to Shivpuran, Adi Devi resides in full form only in Vindhyachal Dham. Where the entire idol form of the Goddess is seen. While in other Shaktipeeths, different parts of the goddess are worshiped as symbols. Because of this, it is said about this temple that every wish of the devotees with a true heart is fulfilled here. This Mahatirtha, located on the banks of Shri Ganga ji, has been declared the head of all Shaktipeeths by the scriptures. This Mahatirtha is the first and last Shaktipeeth among the 51 Shaktipeeths of India which is located on the banks of the Ganga.
