🚩 Why is Bada Mangal so special?
According to the Ramayana, when Lord Ram and Lakshman were searching for Mata Sita, they first met Hanuman—disguised as a sage—near Rishyamuk mountain. This meeting is believed to have taken place on a Tuesday in the month of Jyestha. In the Mahabharata too, there's a legend where Bhima encountered an elderly monkey (Hanuman) whose tail he couldn’t lift. Hanuman revealed his true form and freed Bhima from his pride. This incident also adds significance to Tuesdays in the Jyestha month.
🚩 Why is Lord Hanuman called Sankat Mochan?
One of the most well-known episodes of the Lanka war is when Lakshman was struck down by Meghnad’s Brahmastra, leaving the entire Vanara army in despair. Hanuman, with his unmatched courage, devotion, and determination, resolved to bring the Sanjeevani herb from Dronagiri mountain. Despite the demon Kalnemi’s deceit along the way, he stayed unfazed and brought back the entire mountain when he couldn’t identify the herb. Due to his divine acts, he is revered as Sankat Mochan—the remover of all troubles.
