The term "Navarna" is derived from "Nav" (nine) and "Arna" (syllables), signifying the mantra's nine syllables: "Om Aim Hreem Kleem Chamundaye Vichche."
Each syllable corresponds to one of Maa Durga's nine forms. "Aim" is related to Goddess Shailaputri, "Hreem" to Goddess Brahmacharini, "Kleem" to Goddess Chandraghanta, "Cha" to Goddess Kushmanda, "Mun" to Goddess Skandamata, "Da" to Goddess Katyayani, "Ye" to Goddess Kalratri, "Vi" to Goddess Mahagauri, and "Chche" to Goddess Siddhidatri. Chanting the Navarna mantra invokes the divine energies of these nine goddesses, bringing success and spiritual upliftment. When the Navarna Mantra is chanted alongside Durga Saptashati and the Nav Chandi Mahayagya, its effects are believed to multiply, yielding profound spiritual results.
