The Ashtami Tithi of Gupt Navratri, known as Durga Ashtami, is dedicated to the worship of the ten Mahavidyas of Goddess Durga. Among these ten Mahavidyas, Maa Tripura Sundari holds a special place. She is considered the embodiment of Shodashi Maheshwari Shakti. It is believed that worshipping Maa Tripura Sundari blesses devotees with wealth, prosperity, and the fulfillment of all their desires. Maa Tripura Sundari is also known as Rajarajeshwari, Kamakshi, and Lalita, and she is revered as the most beautiful Goddess in all three worlds. Her 16-year-old form is referred to as "Shodashi."
According to the scriptures, the recitation of the "Lalita Sahasranama" is considered extremely beneficial for seeking the blessings of Maa Tripura Sundari. It is believed that this hymn was first narrated by Lord Shiva to his son Kartikeya. Many sages have also attained spiritual accomplishments by chanting this stotra. It is further believed that performing this ritual at the Maa Lalita Devi Temple located in Prayagraj, in the sacred region of Mahakumbh, amplifies the power and impact of this stotra. This temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths, and according to legend, it is the place where Maa Sati's finger fell.
