Diwali Shodasha Lakshmi Mahanushthan Shodasha Lakshmi Kanya Pujan and Diwali Lakshmi Prapti Homa for Blessings Of Fulfilment Of All Desires And Protection From Negative Energies

Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated with immense joy and enthusiasm across India. This auspicious day marks the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya after completing his 14-year exile, accompanied by his wife, Sita, and younger brother, Lakshman. To honour this momentous occasion, people across the country light earthen diyas. While the story of Lord Ram is central to the Diwali celebration, the worship of Maa Lakshmi on this day holds special significance. According to ancient stories, it is believed that during the Samudra Manthan (the churning of the cosmic ocean), Goddess Lakshmi was born on Diwali, symbolising the arrival of abundance and good fortune. It is said that Goddess Lakshmi visits every home on Diwali to bestow blessings of wealth and prosperity. In Hinduism, Goddess Lakshmi is revered as the Goddess of Wealth. It is believed that those who are blessed by Maa Lakshmi do not face financial difficulties.

Devotees perform various rituals to please Maa Lakshmi on Diwali. Among these rituals, the Shodasa Lakshmi Kanya Pujan stands out as a unique ceremony that invokes the blessings of the 16 forms of Goddess Lakshmi. The Sanskrit term ‘Shodasa’ means 16, and this special puja performed for the 16 powerful forms of the Goddesses can grant 16 kinds of blessings. Therefore, Shodasha Lakshmi Kanya Pujan will be organised on the auspicious day of Dhanteras to receive blessings from 16 forms of Maa Lakshmi. In Hindu traditions, Kanyas, or daughters in the home, are revered as the embodiment of Lakshmi, often referred to as the ghar ki Lakshmi. They symbolise prosperity and abundance. During this auspicious puja, 16 Kanyas, each holding a diya, will worship the revered Maa Lakshmi. It is believed that by performing this puja on Dhanteras, devotees receive blessings for the fulfilment of all desires. Additionally, performing Lakshmi Prapti Homa helps one attract money and prosperity to the home. Participate in this puja through Sri Mandir and receive divine blessings from Maa Lakshmi.

The Etteluthuperumal Temple, located in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, is a revered shrine imbued with deep spiritual significance. Established 120 years ago by the esteemed sage Mayandi Siddhar, the temple is a testament to enduring tradition and devotion. Sage Mayandi Siddhar constructed the temple following a profound meditation and vision of Lord Ram. The temple has witnessed numerous miracles, including the main statue of Lord Perumal, which was sculpted by an ordinary person with no formal knowledge of sculpture. The temple houses several sacred idols, including the notable Sphatika Lingam made of pure clear quartz.

According to the Shastras, worshipping the Sphatika Lingam is believed to imbue devotees with confidence, self-worth, and power, while alleviating worries and negative influences. This Sphatika Lingam is particularly significant as it is one of the largest in India, after the one in Rishikesh.
