Hanuman Garhi is one of the most important temples dedicated to Hanuman and is believed to have been constructed around the 10th century, with its establishment around 300 years ago under the guidance of Swami Abhayaram Das, commissioned by Nawab Siraj-ud-Daula.
According to legends, this is the very spot Lord Rama granted to Hanuman for his stay after the Lanka conquest. The main sanctum houses a beautiful idol of Mother Anjani with child Hanuman on her lap. The walls depict various episodes from the Ramayana and Lord Rama's life.
