Jyotirlinga Shivratri and Kali Chaudas Special 11,000 Shiv Aghor Mantra Jaap, Kali Kavach Stotra Path and Bhasma Rudrabhishek for Blessings of Protection from Evil and Negativity in Life

In Sanatan Dharma, Kali Chaudas and Masik Shivratri hold great significance. Every year, Kali Chaudas is celebrated on the Chaturdashi tithi of the Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. According to the Hindu Panchang, the Chaturdashi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha (waning phase of the moon) is known as Masik Shivratri. There are a total of twelve Masik Shivaratri in a year. However, the Shivratri that falls in the Kartik month holds special significance. During this time, devotees worship Lord Shiva and Maa Kali with deep devotion, performing various rituals to seek their blessings. Maa Kali, the fierce consort of Lord Shiva, is a significant deity in Hindu mythology. According to legend, there was a powerful demon named Raktabeej who had been granted a boon that every drop of his blood would give birth to a new demon. The gods were unable to defeat him because whenever he was wounded, new demons would be born from the blood that fell to the ground. This made it nearly impossible to defeat Raktabeej. To end this crisis, Maa Kali appeared and spread her tongue across the battlefield, preventing any blood from touching the ground. In this way, she stopped Raktabeej from regenerating and defeated him. However, Maa Kali’s rage continued even after the demon’s death, threatening the universe. To calm her, Lord Shiva lay in her path. When Maa Kali accidentally stepped on him, she realised her actions and finally calmed down, restoring balance to the cosmos.

This year, Kali Chaudas coincides with Masik Shivratri, creating an auspicious and rare opportunity to perform puja for both Lord Shiva and Maa Kali. During this time, devotees often invoke Lord Shiva, especially in his Rudra and Aghor form, as he is associated with death, destruction, and moksha (liberation). That is why it is believed that performing 11,000 Aghor mantra Jaap and Bhasma Rudrabhishek during Masik Shivratri and Kali Chaudas brings blessings of protection from evil and negativity in life. Because this mantra and abhishek is dedicated to Lord Shiva symbolising the fearless and compassionate aspect of the deity. Along with this mantra jaap and abhishek, performing Kali Kavach Stotra Path is considered highly beneficial because this stotra path brings protection from all negativity. It is believed that performing 11,000 Shiv Aghor Mantra Jaap, Kali Kavach Stotra Path and Bhasma Rudrabhishek brings blessings of protection from evil and negativity in life. Performing this puja at one of the Jyotirlingas enhances its significance even further. Therefore, on the auspicious conjunction of Masik Shivratri and Kali Chudas, 11,000 Shiv Aghor Mantra Jaap, Kali Kavach Stotra Path and Bhasma Rudrabhishek will be conducted at Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, which is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. According to scriptures, merely visiting Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga can liberate one from all sins. The glory of the Omkareshwar temple is mentioned in the Skanda Purana, Shiva Purana, and Vayu Purana. Therefore, participate in this puja through Sri Mandir and receive the blessings of Lord Shiva and Maa Kali for blessings of protection from evil and negativity in life.

Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh

Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh
The fourth Jyotirlinga among the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva is Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, considered a Swayambhu lingam. It is located in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh on the island of Mandhata or Shivpuri in the Narmada River. Here, the Jyotirlinga exists in two forms. One is known as Mamleshwar and the other as Omkareshwar. Mamleshwar is located a little distance away on the southern bank of the Narmada from Omkareshwar. Despite being separate, they are counted as one. The pronunciation of 'Omkar' first emerged from the mouth of the creator Brahma. The recitation of the Vedas also begins with 'Om'. It is believed that the Narmada river itself flows here in the shape of 'Om'. According to scriptures, merely visiting Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga can liberate one from all sins. The glory of the Omkareshwar Kshetra is mentioned in the Skanda Purana, Shiva Purana, and Vayu Purana.

According to a mythological story, Lord Shiva comes here to rest at night after wandering through all the three worlds. It is said that this is the only temple on earth where Shiva and Parvati play the game of dice every night. After the Shayan Aarti at night, a dice board is set up here, and the Garbhgriha is closed. Surprisingly, even though no one can enter the temple at night, the dice are found scattered every day. This fact further enhances the religious significance of this temple. This is why after visiting all other pilgrimages, a visit and worship at Omkareshwar holds special importance. Pilgrims bring water from all other holy places to offer at Omkareshwar, only then are all pilgrimages considered complete; otherwise, they are considered incomplete.
