Choti Diwali 'Mahavidya Kali' Mahanushthan Divya Mahakali Tantrokta Havan and Kali Kavach Path for Blessings of Wealth and Abundance, and Protection from Obstacles

In Sanatan Dharma, Kali Chaudas holds special significance. Every year, it is celebrated on the Chaturdashi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Kartik. It is also known as "Choti Diwali" and "Narak Chaturdashi." This day is dedicated to Maa Kali, and her worship is considered auspicious on this day. Maa Kali is the first among the ten Mahavidyas, and it is believed that she becomes easily pleased when worshipped on Kali Chaudas. Though she is known as the goddess who destroys negative energies, it is also believed that if Maa Kali is pleased with someone, she bestows them with wealth and prosperity. It is said that Kali Chaudas is one of the most auspicious days to appease Maa Kali. Therefore, devotees perform various rituals on Kali Chaudas to seek her blessings, among which the "Divya Mahakali Tantrokta Havan" and "Kali Kavach Path" are considered significant.

The Divya Mahakali Tantrokta Havan is a fire ritual in which offerings are made into the sacred fire while chanting mantras dedicated to Maa Kali. This ritual is considered one of the simplest ways to please Maa Kali. Meanwhile, the Kali Kavach Path is a collection of mantras dedicated to Maa Kali. It is believed that reciting this Kavach (armour) grants divine protection from Maa Kali. Performing these pujas on Kali Chaudas is believed to bring wealth, prosperity, and blessings of protection from obstacles. If this puja is performed at a Shaktipeeth, it is believed to be many times more fruitful. Therefore, on the auspicious occasion of Kali Chaudas, the Divya Mahakali Tantrokta Havan and Kali Kavach Path will be organised at the Maa Tarapith Temple in West Bengal, a sacred Shaktipeeth. According to legend, before the creation of the universe, Maa Kali existed in the form of darkness. To initiate creation, she manifested as the radiant Maa Tara, marking the beginning of nature. This is why the worship of Goddess Mahakali holds special significance at the Maa Tarapith Temple in West Bengal. This temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths, and it is believed that the third eye of Sati fell here. Participate in this puja through Sri Mandir and receive the divine blessings of Maa Kali.

According to ancient stories, the origin of Maa Tara occurred at the time when poison emerged during the Samundra Manthan, and Lord Shiva consumed it. This act rendered him unconscious and left him in a perilous state. It was during this critical juncture that Maa Kali emerged as Maa Tara and breastfed Lord Shiva, which then calmed the burning sensation in his body. Maa Tara is considered to be another form of Maa Kali.

Maa Tarapith Temple dedicated to Maa Tara is Located in West Bengal’s Birbhum district. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, described as being seats of divine feminine power or Shakti. Some stories purport that the third eye or the eyeball of Sati had fallen here. Various parts of Sati's body are said to have fallen all across South Asia during Lord Shiva's Rudra Tandav (devastating dance) following Sati’s self-immolation at Daksha’s yajna where she and her husband were disrespected. Worshipping at this temple removes all kinds of crises from the lives of devotees.
