In Hinduism, Ekadashi holds significant religious importance as it is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, also known as Narayan. There is a deep connection between Maa Bagalamukhi and Narayan. According to ancient scriptures, the manifestation of Maa Bagalamukhi was initiated by Lord Narayan himself. In the Satyug, there was a demon named Madan who had received a boon from Lord Brahma, making him invincible. Empowered by this boon, Madan terrorized the three worlds. Frightened by his power, the gods sought help from Lord Vishnu, who revealed that the only way to defeat Madan was by invoking Maa Bagalamukhi. To achieve this, Lord Vishnu himself performed intense penance near the Haridra Sarovar (a sacred lake of yellow water). Pleased with his devotion, Maa Bagalamukhi appeared and slayed the demon Madan. After his demise, all the gods and sages praised the Goddess and were blessed with victory.
This is why Maa Bagalamukhi is regarded as the Goddess of justice, victory, and the destruction of enemies. She is one of the ten Mahavidyas and is also known as Pitambara due to her origin from the Haridra Sarovar. Radiating a golden-yellow aura, her worship involves the extensive use of the color yellow. She is known as the Goddess of Stambhan Shakti. Devotees who worship her gain immense strength, courage, and confidence, aiding them in resolving legal disputes, ensuring victory, and overcoming enemies. Additionally, performing the Sudarshan Kavacham Yagya alongside her worship is considered highly effective for triumph over adversaries. The Sudarshan Chakra, described in the Rigveda, symbolizes Lord Vishnu and the cycle of time. It is a divine weapon that, once unleashed, annihilates enemies and returns only after fulfilling its purpose.
