Bhadrapada Shukl Rishi Panchami Special Rishi Panchami Mahapuja

Rishi Panchami on 20th September 2023 is an important festival in the Hindu calendar. It is celebrated on the fifth day of the Shukl Paksha of the month of Bhadrapada. On this day, the Saptarishis (seven sages) are worshipped.

The Saptarishis are said to be the ancestors of the human race. They are believed to be the source of knowledge and wisdom. Worshipping the Saptarishis is believed to bring peace, prosperity, and good fortune.

Shri Sapt Rishi Temple, located in the city of Ujjain, the abode of Lord Mahakal, was established by Lord Krishna over 5,000 years ago. The temple is mentioned in the Avantika Khanda of the Skanda Purana. It is said that Lord Krishna established the temple to help the souls of his guru, Rishi Sandipani's sons, attain moksha.
