Kojagiri Purnima Night Special Kojagiri Lakshmi Pujan and Divya Mahakali Tantra Yukta Havan for Courage and Protection from Obstacles

Kojagiri Purnima or Kojagiri Puja is considered one of the most auspicious days in Hinduism. It is celebrated on the full moon day of the month of Ashwin. It is believed that worshipping Goddess Lakshmi on this auspicious day blesses devotees with abundant wealth and prosperity. The eve of Kojagiri Puja is also referred to as "Sharad Purnima" in some regions of the country. According to tradition, it is believed that on Sharad Purnima, Goddess Lakshmi manifested during the churning of the ocean. Hence, worshipping her on this day is of great significance. The most auspicious time to perform the worship of Goddess Lakshmi is considered to be at midnight, known as Nishit Kaal. The term "Kojagiri" refers to a person who stays awake at night. It is believed that devotees who stay awake at midnight to worship Goddess Lakshmi receive her divine blessings. On this day, devotees adopt various rituals to please Goddess Lakshmi, including Kojagiri Lakshmi Pujan. This is an incredibly effective means of pleasing the Goddess. It is believed that performing this puja on Kojagiri Purnima blesses devotees with wealth, gives them the courage to confront financial problems, and protects them from financial obstacles.

On the other hand, Maa Kali is also worshipped on Purnima. Maa Kali is the foremost goddess among the ten Mahavidyas. She brings rays of light and hope into the lives of her devotees, dispelling negativity and darkness. Maa Kali is worshipped through various rituals, including the Divya Mahakali Tantra Yukta Havan. It is believed that performing this puja is highly beneficial. Worshipping her on Purnima is thought to invoke her blessings for courage and protection from obstacles. According to legends, before the creation of the universe, Maa Kali existed everywhere as darkness. To initiate the creation of the universe, the goddess manifested as the luminous form of Maa Tara and began the creation of nature. For this reason, the worship of Maa Mahakali holds special significance at the Shaktipeeth Maa Tarapith Temple in West Bengal. Therefore, on the auspicious night of Kojagiri Purnima, Kojagiri Lakshmi Pujan and Divya Mahakali Tantra Yukta Havan will be organised at the Shaktipeeth Maa Tarapith Temple. Participate in this puja through Sri Mandir and receive the blessings of Maa Lakshmi and Maa Kali to attain courage and protection from obstacles.

According to ancient stories, the origin of Maa Tara occurred at the time when poison emerged during the Samundra Manthan, and Lord Shiva consumed it. This act rendered him unconscious and left him in a perilous state. It was during this critical juncture that Maa Kali emerged as Maa Tara and breastfed Lord Shiva, which then calmed the burning sensation in his body. Maa Tara is considered to be another form of Maa Kali.

Maa Tarapith Temple dedicated to Maa Tara is Located in West Bengal’s Birbhum district. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, described as being seats of divine feminine power or Shakti. Some stories purport that the third eye or the eyeball of Sati had fallen here. Various parts of Sati's body are said to have fallen all across South Asia during Lord Shiva's Rudra Tandav (devastating dance) following Sati’s self-immolation at Daksha’s yajna where she and her husband were disrespected. Worshipping at this temple removes all kinds of crises from the lives of devotees.
