Mokshada Ekadashi Moksha Tirth Special Narayan Bali, Naag Bali, and Pitru Shanti Mahapuja for Peace of Departed Souls

In Hinduism, Mokshada Ekadashi holds profound spiritual importance. It is celebrated on the ekadashi tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha. It is an auspicious day dedicated to worship of Lord Vishnu for liberation from sins, and to achieve moksha (liberation) after death. As described in the Brahmanda Purana, King Vaikhanasa of Champaka Nagar dreamt of his late father suffering in Naraka (hell). Seeking guidance, he approached sage Parvata Muni, who revealed the cause—a past sin of neglecting marital duties. The sage advised the king to observe the Mokshada Ekadashi fast with devotion to Lord Vishnu. The king, along with his family and subjects, followed the fast sincerely. Their prayers pleased the divine, liberating his father and granting him a place in the heavenly realms. This story highlights Lord Vishnu’s power on Mokshada Ekadashi to cleanse sins, honor ancestors, and attain spiritual freedom. Hence, it is believed that performing puja on this day can alleviate all troubles and bestow His blessings. The rituals performed during Mokshada Ekadashi, especially Narayan Bali, Naag Bali, and Pitru Shanti Mahapuja, are regarded as extremely beneficial. It is believed that performing Narayan Bali, Naag Bali, and Pitru Shanti Mahapuja during this tithi removes ancestral curse and provides relief for the peace of departed souls and grants them a place in Lord Vishnu's abode.

In the Garuda Purana, Bhagwan Vishnu explains to Garuda Dev (the king of birds) that those who face untimely or unnatural deaths or due to bad karma, may face the sufferings of Pishach Yoni (ghost realm) and cause trouble for others. For the salvation of such souls, performing Narayan Bali and Naag Bali Puja is considered highly effective. Lord Vishnu further explains that these special rituals should be performed by experienced pandits on the banks of holy rivers like the Ganga. Therefore this puja will be conducted at the Ganga Ghat Haridwar, on Mokshada Ekadashi Tithi dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Haridwar is revered as Moksha Tirth, or the sacred place of liberation, due to its ancient and profound spiritual significance. As one of the seven holiest places in Hinduism, it is believed that taking a dip in the holy Ganges River at Haridwar washes away sins and paves the way for liberation from the cycle of birth and death. The Ganga Ghats in Haridwar are revered sites for ancestral rituals, and it is believed that conducting Narayan Bali, Naag Bali, and Pitru Shanti Mahapuja here brings peace to the souls of ancestors. With their blessings, devotees can attain happiness, peace, and prosperity in life. Therefore, participate in this Mahapuja through Sri Mandir at the Ganga Ghat, Haridwar, and receive the blessings of your ancestors.
