Vaishakha Amavasya Shakti-Samriddhi 5 Mahavidya Anushthan Maa Kali, Maa Tara, Maa Shodashi, Maa Bhuvaneshwari and Maa Bagalamukhi Shakti Samriddhi Maha Yagya For Negativity Shielding and Abundance

🌑 Why is the Amavasya, the biggest and most powerful day to worship the Mahavidyas? 🛡️

Amavasya is a day when negative energies are at their peak, and fierce deities are worshipped for protection and strength.. When Amavasya falls during the Vaishakha month, it is referred to as Vaishakha Amavasya—a highly auspicious occasion for invoking powerful divine energies. On this sacred day, the Mahavidyas, the ten ferocious manifestations of Maa Durga, are especially worshipped. These divine forms are revered for their fierce nature and protective energy. Devotees seek their blessings to eliminate negativity and ensure spiritual and material upliftment. Performing puja on Vaishakha Amavasya is considered a righteous act that can shield one from harmful influences and usher in positivity.

According to the scriptures, the ten Mahavidyas are the ten ferocious manifestations of Maa Durga, representing supreme knowledge and cosmic energy. As per the Bhagavata Purana, the Mahavidyas emerged during a dispute between Lord Shiva and Goddess Sati. When Lord Shiva forbade Goddess Sati from attending her father’s Yagya, she transformed into ten different forms, surrounding Lord Shiva to prevent him from leaving. These ten forms came to be known as the Ten Mahavidyas. Among these, five Mahavidyas are especially revered: Maa Kali, Maa Tara, Maa Shodashi, Maa Bhuvaneshwari, and Maa Bagalamukhi. Each of these deities embodies a unique power that provides guidance, protection, and strength to devotees. It is believed that worshipping them brings immense power and prosperity, helping individuals overcome challenges and attain both spiritual and material well-being.

🔹Maa Kali, the first Mahavidya, represents time, creation, and destruction. She is the Shakti of Shiva. Maa Durga assumed her form to defeat demons. She removes obstacles, destroys negativity, and initiates new beginnings.
🔹Maa Tara is the principal deity for Tantrics. Maharishi Vashistha was the first to worship Maa Tara. She embodies guidance and compassion, helping devotees navigate tough times while granting wisdom and spiritual liberation.
🔹Maa Shodashi, also known as Lalita, Raj Rajeshwari, and Tripura Sundari, is believed to possess the 16 perfect qualities, hence the name Shodashi. She represents beauty, harmony, and ultimate reality. She is worshipped for her ability to bring balance and fulfilment in life.
🔹Maa Bhuvaneshwari is considered the goddess of the universe. It is said that she controls the entire cosmos. She is the nurturing force of creation and abundance. Maa Bhuvaneshwari blesses her devotees by bestowing abundance, nurturing creation, and expanding opportunities for growth and success.
🔹Maa Bagalamukhi represents control, victory, and stillness. She is known for her power to subdue enemies and grant protection. Maa Bagalamukhi blesses her devotees by removing obstacles, providing mastery over challenges, and ensuring victory in times of conflict.

To honour these five Mahavidyas, the Maa Kali, Maa Tara, Maa Shodashi, Maa Bhuvaneshwari, and Maa Bagalamukhi Shakti Smriddhi Maha Yagya will be organized at the sacred Shaktipeeth Kalighat Temple in Kolkata. One of the 51 Shaktipeethas, Kalighat is dedicated to Goddess Kali and holds immense religious and cultural significance. It is believed that the right toe of Goddess Sati fell here, making it a powerful spiritual center. Devotees worship devi at this temple to seek liberation from fear, negativity, and obstacles, attaining peace, prosperity, and divine blessings.

Shaktipeeth Kalighat Temple, Kolkata, West Bengal
The Kali Ghat Temple, located in Kolkata, West Bengal, is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in Hinduism and is considered a highly significant pilgrimage site. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, revered as the deity of power, energy, and destruction. According to mythological tales, it is believed that here, the right toe of Goddess Sati fell when Lord Shiva was carrying her burnt body and performing the Tandava dance in grief. For this reason, this place is included among the extremely sacred 51 Shakti Peethas. The temple houses an idol of Goddess Kali in a fierce form, where she is seen standing with her right foot on Lord Shiva's chest, adorned with a garland of soft skulls around his neck, holding some axes and severed heads in her hands, with some skulls tied around her waist. Her tongue is protruding outward with drops of blood dripping from it, made of gold.

The current temple was constructed under the patronage of the Saborno Roychoudhury family & Babu Kaliproshad Dutto, with construction starting in 1798 and completing in 1809. The Kali Ghat Temple holds immense religious and cultural significance. For centuries, it has been a centre of attraction for devotees who come here to fulfil their wishes. Worship of Goddess Kali at Kali Ghat liberates devotees from fear, negativity, and malevolent energies, bringing peace, prosperity, and success in life. Additionally, the temple is a symbol of Bengal's cultural heritage and hosts grand celebrations during religious festivals, especially Durga Puja and Kali Puja.
