Hanuman Garhi is considered one of the most important shrines dedicated to him. Though the temple’s origins trace back to the 10th century, it was formally established around 300 years ago under Swami Abhayramdas Ji with support from Nawab Siraj-ud-Daula.
According to legend, this is where Lord Rama offered Hanuman Ji a place to reside after the Lanka war. The main sanctum houses an idol of Mata Anjani with young Hanuman in her lap.
