Behind this tradition, there's a popular mythological story. It is said that once, when Maa Sita was preparing food in Sage Valmiki's Ashram, Hanuman arrived, expressing his hunger. Maa Sita served him food, but despite eating everything, Hanuman's hunger remained unsatisfied, to the extent that the provisions ran out. On Lord Ram's suggestion, Maa Sita gave Hanumanji a Tulsi leaf along with the food. As soon as he ate the Tulsi leaf, his hunger was satisfied. Since then, it has become a tradition to include Tulsi leaves in Hanuman's prasad. Along with Tulsi, Besan Ladoo is also offered to Lord Hanuman as it is his favourite. It is believed that the current structure of Shri Raj Dwar Temple is approximately 900 years old. The reconstruction of the present temple was carried out by the former king of Ayodhya, Maharaja Maan Singh.
