Gupt Navratri Ashtami Special - Day 8,10 Mahavidya Puja and 1008 Laal Pushp Havan for Mental and Physical Strength

According to the Vedic Panchang, Gupt Navratri begins in the Shukla Paksha of the month of Ashadha. During these nine days of the festival, the ten Mahavidyas are worshipped secretly, which is why this festival is called Gupt Navratri. The 10 Mahavidyas, are considered forms of Goddess Durga and bestower of all Siddhis. Those who perform the worship of these 10 Mahavidyas are said to attain all worldly pleasures. To appease the Goddess, tantric practitioners perform Puja for Devi Maa. According to the Devi Bhagavat Purana, the origin of the Mahavidyas arose from a dispute between Lord Shiva and his wife Sati. Sati insisted on attending a yagya organised by her father, which Shiva ignored. Then, Sati transformed herself into a fierce form (Mahakali avatar). After seeing this, Shiva was amazed and started running in all directions. However, Sati stopped him in all directions. In her attempt to stop him, Sati manifested herself in all ten directions, which came to be known as the 10 Mahavidyas.

Worshipping the ten Mahavidyas during Gupt Navratri blesses devotees with mental and physical strength, courage, and fulfils all their desires. The scriptures state that red flowers are very dear to Maa Bhagwati. Since the 10 Mahavidyas are forms of Maa Gauri, it is considered best to offer them red flowers. Not only offering flowers but also giving oblations (Aahuti) of red flowers to the Ten Mahavidyas makes them extremely pleased, and they bless their devotees with mental and physical strength. Therefore, the 10 Mahavidya Puja and 1008 Laal Pushp Havan will be organised on the 8th day of Gupt Navratri. Participate in this puja through Sri Mandir and attain blessings from 10 Mahavdiyas.

Kalimath Temple, Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand
Kalimath Temple is situated in Rudraprayag district, around 25 kilometres from the town of Guptkashi. The temple is dedicated to Maa Kali, who is revered as a fierce deity that destroys evil forces and protects her devotees. It is the only place where Maa Kali is situated along with her sisters Mata Lakshmi and Maa Saraswati. There is a divine rock at a height of eight kilometres from this temple. This Sheela is known as Kalishila. It is believed that at this place, Goddesses troubled by Shumbha-Nishumbha and Raktabija demons had done penance to Maa Bhagwati.

Maa Bhagwati then appeared in Kalishila as a 12-year-old girl, Kalishila has 64 instruments of deities. Hearing about the terror of the Asuras, the mother’s body turned black with anger and she took a form of rage. Mother killed both the demons in the war. The mother was empowered by these 64 instruments. The most interesting thing about the Kalimath Mandir is that it does not have any idols. The Kalimath temple has a kund, which is covered with silver board / Sri yantra. Devotees worship the Kunda inside the temple, it is only opened on the Ashtami during the whole year in the Shardiya Navratras. The divine goddess is taken out and worship is also done only at midnight, then only the chief priests are present.
