The sage narrated the tale of Medhavi, the son of Sage Chyavan, who was distracted by the celestial nymph Manjughosha and abandoned his penance. Realizing his mistake, he cursed Manjughosha, but when she sincerely repented, he advised her to observe the Papmochani Ekadashi fast for absolution. After devoutly observing the fast, Manjughosha was freed from her curse, inspiring Medhavi to undertake the fast himself, ultimately attaining spiritual purification. This is why Papmochani Ekadashi is considered highly beneficial for eliminating sins, attaining moksha, and bringing peace to ancestral souls.
According to scriptures, Pitru Dosh arises due to the unfulfilled desires and unresolved karmic deeds of ancestors. Those affected by Pitru Dosh often face financial difficulties, strained relationships, and the influence of negative energy in their lives.
