The New Year 2025 has begun, and everyone wishes for it to be auspicious and delightful. The second day of the year falls on a Thursday, a day dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is believed that worshiping Lord Vishnu on a Thursday brings the blessings of abundance and prosperity. For this reason, it is considered highly auspicious to worship Lord Vishnu on the first Thursday of the year to receive His divine blessings. To mark this occasion, Sri Mandir is organizing a special event at the Shri Dirgh Vishnu Temple in Mathura on the first Thursday of 2025. The rituals will include the Satyanarayan Katha, Vishnu Sahasranama, and the Dhanvantari Homa. Dhanvantri Homa is being organized in this ritual because, according to the Puranas, Lord Dhanvantari is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and the deity of health, wellness, and Ayurveda. It is believed that worshiping Him on a Thursday bestows blessings of good health.
