Grand Ambubachi Mela Special Shaktipeeth Maa Kamakhya Tantra Peeth Kshetra Sadhu Bhojan and Vastra Daan for Getting Blessings from Maa Kamakhya during Ambubachi

👉 During the grand five-day ceremony from June 22 to June 26, Sadhu Bhojan and Vastra Daan will be done 🌸

There are many fairs and festivals celebrated across India, and one of them is the Ambubachi Mela. Every year, millions of people arrive to participate in the Ambubachi Mela celebrated at the Kamakhya Teerth Kshetra in Guwahati, Assam. The Shaktipeeth Maa Kamakhya temple and the Ambubachi festival have a deep historical connection. According to legends, in the Satyug, Maa Kamakhya would menstruate once every 16 years, and the Ambubachi Mela was held. In the Dvapara Yuga, the festival was celebrated every 12 years, and in the Treta Yuga, it was held every 7 years. In the Kaliyug, this festival is celebrated annually in the month of June. During this time, the doors of the temple are closed for three days, during which the Kamakhya Temple remains closed as the Devi is believed to be in her resting phase.
The grandeur of this festival is evident from the fact that tantra practitioners come not only from India but also from around the world to participate and practise tantric rituals. The Kamakhya Teerth is considered the most revered place of Vam Marg (left-hand path) Sadhana. This year, the Ambubachi Mela will be celebrated from Saturday, June 22 to Tuesday, June 26. During this period, Sadhu Bhojan and Vastra Daan will be performed for five days. It is believed that offering food (Bhojan) and clothes (Vastra) to the sages and monks in the Kamakhya Teerth Kshetra during the Ambubachi Mela greatly pleases Maa Kamakhya. Devotees who cannot visit Kamakhya Teerth Kshetra during the Ambubachi Mela can still receive the divine blessings of Maa Kamakhya by offering food (Bhojan) and clothes (Vastra) to the sages and monks.

Shaktipeeth Maa Kamakhya Teerth Kshetra, Guwahati, Assam

Shaktipeeth Maa Kamakhya Teerth Kshetra, Guwahati, Assam
Nestled in the lap of Nilachal Hills is Maa Shaktipeeth Kamakhya Temple in Assam in Northeast India. This temple is situated in Kamakhya Teerth Kshetra. The Kamakhya Temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeethas, especially known for the practice of Tantra. The Shaktipeethas are sacred spots where parts of the body of Goddess Sati fell during the mythological episode of Lord Shiva's Tandava following her self-immolation.

Shri Shaktipeeth Kamakhya Temple is where Her ‘Yoni’ (womb or vagina) fell. Therefore, this pilgrimage site is associated with desires, relationships, fertility and marital life. She is worshipped here in the form of a stone (supposedly her ‘Yoni) that is kept moist all the year round in the ‘Garvagriha’ or the sanctum sanctorum.

Every year, the Ambubachi Mela is celebrated here in the Kamakhya Teerth Kshetra, during which the doors of the Kamakhya temple are closed and no auspicious activities take place. According to belief, during the Ambubachi Mela, Maa Kamakhya menstruates for three days, causing the water of the Brahmaputra River flowing behind the temple to turn red. Maa Kamakhya, being the Goddess of Desires, blesses her devotees with love, marital bliss, health, wealth and happiness, fulfilling all their wishes.
